Why We're The Go To Choice For Deck Restoration & Builds On The Gold Coast

We don't just claim trade-standard work — we've got the Gold Coast decks to prove it. After 14+ years in the trade, YardTaskers has earned a name for honest craft — trade-qualified, $5M insured, and proven where salt and sun punish timber. We work directly with homeowners, landlords and builders — matching hardwood, oil and timeline to the deck you've actually got, not a generic spec sheet. A written fixed quote, one crew from quote to sign-off, and a finish matched to your exposure give you the peace of mind you want before work begins. We're committed to finishing every deck to the standard we'd leave on our own homes — restoration, new build, or pre-sale refresh.

Frequently Asked Decking Questions

How long does a deck restoration take?

Most restorations run 2–5 days depending on size and the state of the boards. You'll get a fixed written quote with a timeline before we start — no surprise days added on.

Oil or stain — which should I choose?

Oils soak in, show the grain and weather evenly — best for high-traffic decks and most Gold Coast hardwoods. Stains sit on top with more colour control but re-coat more often. We pick with you once we see your timber and sun exposure.

Will my boards need replacing?

Sometimes a few boards, rarely all of them. If a board's split, rotted through or nail-sick, it gets pulled and swapped. Anything grey, cupped or tired but structurally sound comes back beautifully with a strip and oil.

Can you work with composite decking?

Yes — both resurfacing existing composite decks and new builds in brands like Modwood, EkoDeck and Trex. Our team knows which composites hold up in Gold Coast heat and which to avoid.

Do you handle the frame and structural work too?

Every time. Before a board goes down we check joists, bearers, posts and fixings. Anything suspect gets repaired or replaced — no rebuilding on top of a dying frame.

How often should I oil my deck after restoration?

Gold Coast UV and salt are brutal — 12–18 months is the honest window for most oils. We'll give you the re-coat date and the exact product so you can top it up yourself or book us back in.

Do you remove old boards and waste?

Yes. Old timber, off-cuts, tip runs — all handled. Your site is left cleaner than when we arrived. That's the deal on every deck job.
